Choosing an Oak Log Store: Sizes, Roofs & Capacity
Compare single, two and three-bay oak log stores, reclaimed roof options and the measurements needed to choose firewood storage.
Which oak log store suits your space?
Our single-bay oak log store offers widths from 1700 to 2200 mm, with 700 mm or 950 mm depth choices. It suits customers who need a more compact store with configurable dimensions.
The two-bay store is 3000 mm wide, with 950 mm or 1200 mm depth choices. The three-bay store is 4300 mm wide and 950 mm deep. Compare the full product dimensions with your available space, including roof overhangs and installation access.
How to compare usable firewood capacity
Usable capacity is calculated from the internal width, usable depth and safe stacking height of each bay, measured in metres. Multiply those three measurements, then add the bay volumes to obtain cubic metres of stacked storage.
Overall product measurements do not give an accurate internal capacity: posts, dividers, floor height and the roof reduce the usable space. Ask us to confirm the internal dimensions of your selected store. A loose-filled delivery volume is also not directly equivalent to neatly stacked storage.
Slate or clay tile roofing
The single-bay store offers reclaimed Welsh slate or reclaimed clay tile roofing. The two and three-bay products feature reclaimed Welsh slate. Treated softwood rafters and laths support the roof, with oak used for the main frame and boards.
Choose the finish to complement nearby buildings and garden materials. If a particular roof finish or guttering arrangement is important, confirm it with your selected product or bespoke enquiry.
Airflow, base preparation and installation
Raised slatted floors and open slatted sides encourage air circulation around the logs. Leave ventilation routes open when stacking and position the store with practical access for filling and daily use.
Our oak log stores are made to order and professionally assembled on site. Typical lead time is 6–8 weeks, confirmed with the order. Delivery across mainland England and Wales is free within a 100-mile radius of Waterhouses and £250 including VAT beyond. One delivery charge per order for pergolas and oak log stores. Distances are measured in a straight line. Professional log-store assembly is included; the optional £500 pergola installation charge does not apply to log stores.
Send photographs of a firm, level proposed location before delivery so base preparation and access can be confirmed. For a different footprint, ask about a bespoke oak log store.
